10 Great Sites for Part-Time Work

Finding part-time work or a job where you can work from home can be challenging. Early retirees and those who don’t need to work full-time often want to work both for the extra money as well as the challenge of using their brain and skill set. Students often need summer jobs.

I recently came across a blog posting by Nancy Collamer that delineates and explains 10 sites that list part-time and work from home jobs.

1. The best overall site, she says,  is FlexJobs.com. They have 50 categories of jobs. Their minimum charge for using the site is $14.95 a month, but according to Collamer, it is worth the price.

2. Ratracerebelion.com lists jobs often under $20/hour, but they are legitimate, work from home jobs, and the site lists some higher paying jobs as well.

3. Directselling411.com is the site for home party companies like Pampered Chef, and list the trade group’s 200 companies.

4. BackDoorJobs.com specializes in short-term adventures in the US and abroad.

5. CoolWorks.com features seasonal and part-time jobs in great places, and even has an Older and Bolder section for retirees, as well as part-time and seasonal jobs.

6. Elance.com offers hundreds of thousands of projects, handles the payment and deducts a 8.75% service charge to the price you pay for the job.

7. Guru.com is another site for freelancers and lists opportunities in 160 professional categories.

8. Behance.com is an on-line marketplace for artist’s and creatives to showcase their work and search for part-time and freelance work.

9. FlexProfessionals is a staffing company serving the Washington DC metro area and fills part-time, flexible and project-based jobs.

10. 10 til 2 serves clients in Colorado who want long-term part-time assignments.
